I'm converting M2T HDV files in MPEG Streamclip to edit in Final Cut Express. Maybe I should look for an editor that can handle Quicktime. I realize this is not an MPEG streamclip forum, but there is a FCE question embedded in my post somewhere. If I buy Cineform and a new drive to accommodate the huge new files, I'll be in it $400. Neither handbrake nor mpeg streamclip have been sucessfull in doing so. I'm trying version 10 in the hope that it would handle these files better than 9, but it seems about the same. Im trying to export video files shoot from an hdv camera that were put onto a data dvd. Maybe I can change the frame rate during that Thanks - you kind of answered my last question. I am simultaneously working on the crashing problem, and I have been reading Eugenia's suggestions on transcoding the raw clips into a "friendlier" format before importing them for editing. The program crashes a lot, usually when I am just importing these clips, so using it to correct a hundred clips seems daunting. In any case the frame rate entry box in the properties window is grayed out - can't type anything there. I think this is probably correct, as the guy who gave these clips to me told me he set the camera (his first shoot ever) to maximum everything. Other clips shot by a different HD camera are playing back normally. I encoded with the highest settings for encoding (Full HD, HCenc VBR 2 pass, Higher BitRate Level 9000 Higher Average BitRate 9000) In the resulting Videos are moderate blurs on objects in motion.

The audio sounds normal, so I guess the playback is at normal speed. MPEG Streamclip for Mac Step 3: Adjustment the preset parameters for video. I made little correction with MPEG Streamclip and exported each video to MP4. It would be a cool music video effect, but not on an entire movie. The image is kind of jerky and stuttering.
